Progettazione architettonica edilizia residenziale - Agorà Soluzioni - Collegio Janneum - Roma

The Joanneum college is an accommodation facility located within the Campus of the Catholic University of the Sacro Cuore- A. Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome.

The project, in addition to carrying out internal interventions to the existing structure, aims to increase the accommodation capacity from 104 to 250 beds with the construction of a new building in adherence to the existing building, in the area interposed between the current College and the neighboring building of the Villetta della Misericordia.

The new body of the building is made up of overlapping volumes which intersect to create an internal hypogeal courtyard. This will become the vital nucleus of the old and new College, giving access and light to study rooms, gyms and a multipurpose room that can accommodate up to 270 people or divide into two independent spaces

On the upper floors there are double and single bedrooms, all with private bathroom. Half of the rooms also have a private balcony. Each floor also houses a common dining room and meeting spaces.

The building is built on the two lower floors with a reinforced concrete structure, while in the remaining floors a wood prefabrication technology has been adopted which also includes the supply of prefabricated bathroom modules. The sunny sides host sunshades on the balconies that together with the coat guarantee optimal thermal insulation.
